Worst storm in 100 years they said.
Sydney this week experienced the worst storm in a Century.
It’s bad. Very bad.
Roofs have been ripped off, houses destroyed, animals lost and even 8 souls have lost their lives. Simply put is has been devastating.
You would think in Australia with so much wild weather we would be prepared for anything.
This storm has taken everyone by surprise.? Even those who had warning.
In bed the other night I was listening to the wind rip through the yard and tear trees out of my garden I thought about business and how sometimes no matter how many storms you have been through it sometimes doesn’t prepare you for what’s coming.
Sometimes you think because you have been able to ride out a few storms you can take on any storm. In business as in life complacency can create a false sense of security.
Almost every economist in Australia right now is predicting a financial shit storm that is unprecedented is coming. Unlike anything we have ever seen before.
If you know me you know I am not a doom and gloom kinda guy.? I?m sunshine, rainbows and lollipops. But I pay attention to the experts and the signs.
The signs in the economy are there, the question is are you paying attention and what are you doing to prepare your business?
As I flick through the newspaper this morning a common thread I am reading about is people saying we just didn’t expect the storm to be so bad?.
Which says to me if they had known in advance just how bad this storm was going to be they would’ve been able to prepare more effectively to reduce or in some cases avoid any and all of the destruction, devastation and maybe even deaths.
?Success depends upon previous preparation, and without such preparation there is sure to be failure? Confucius
This really got me thinking – how many people are prepared for the potential economic upheaval that is said to be just around the corner.
In my experience in business most people don’t prepare. In fact most people don’t do anything until it is too late just like so many who watched their houses float down the street.
The financial shit storm that is coming will arrive the question is how hard will it hit and will you pay attention to the warnings or will you be like the 90% who blindly believe she’ll be right mate, that would never happen to me?.
My advice is be prepared and start preparing now. And the best preparation you can do right now is learn what it takes to be the leader in your field.? The go-to business for the problems you solve.
You need to learn how to thrive NOW if you want to survive later. You need to learn how to recession proof your business..
There are 5 things I use to do that and the clients that use these 5 things not only recession proof their businesses they grow at warp speed.
If you would like to find out more about what these 5 things are and how you can use them check out our up and coming program Nail It & Scale It.
Stay warm, stay safe.
Sunshine, blue skies, rainbows and lollipops.
