The biggest pattern that I see is so many people are trying to do things too quickly, and when they don’t see results they experience high levels of stress that prevent them from making better decisions.
Because the very key thing that’s preventing you from being a better business owner right now is your ability to make fast and quick decisions. And the very thing that prevents you from making fast and quick decisions is stress.
Stress is a chemical reaction as a result of how you perceive and interpret a situation based on the meaning that you allocate it in the moment. Something happens, you have a realisation and you go, “Oh my god, this is bad”. You create a bad me, and your body goes, “Well, this is obviously stressful”.
And your body releases a little hormone called cortisol. And cortisol is magical. It has this incredible ability within seven minutes to halve your IQ. If you doubt me, let’s battle test it.
Has anyone here ever done anything really fucking stupid whilst they were stressed. All the time.
Only to then sober up and go, “What was I thinking?”
But what drives stress to a higher level is our perspective and if you’re trying to build something quicker than what is probable, you’re going to experience greater opportunities for stress in every single person in your environment.
Key to Embracing Stress
Because here’s the thing, do you know what the key is to embracing stress at the highest level? Gratitude.
And let me tell you why, it’s all chemistry.
Chemically speaking, there is only one hormone in the body that can actually drop cortisol it’s called DHEA and DHEA is released naturally when we experience states of gratitude which lowers the cortisol in our bloodstream. DHEA makes you smarter, live longer, and increases your well being and your mood.
All you need to do is think about something that you’re grateful for.
For example, I am so grateful that I’ve had this realisation moment right now. I am so glad that I fucking dropped this. I’m so glad that this happened.
You’ll be going, “But how on earth can I be grateful for this?”
Whatever that is, I don’t give a fuck. And it’s not that I don’t care about you, I just care for you and the way I care for you is by helping you see the bigger picture. Which is two years from now, you will look back on this moment and go, “I’m so grateful that this happened”.
Imagine from the moment every single thing happens in your life moving forward from this day, every bad thing, every single thing, regardless of what it is, every time it happens you go, “Oh my god, what am I learning right now? What is the benefit of this? How is this going to serve me? How is this going to build me? What is this going to bring me?”
Imagine living in a world like that, where you actually didn’t resist realisation, you embraced realisation.
