In order to stay healthy, enjoy life and to sustain strong long-term results in your business, you have to make some time to relax.
In a world that’s driven by productivity, it’s easy to forget to relax or in some cases even feel guilty when you do, but when you realise that consistent rest is directly linked to consistent results, you’ll start seeing the value in allowing yourself time to wind down.
My methods of relaxation are a little bit unusual.
I meditate twice a day, sometimes more depending on what is going on in my life. I think it’s always important to know where your base line is because sometimes we can get away from it through the activities and stresses in life which is why I love to reset.
Meditation for me is a great way to get back to my centre.
Now is going to sound strange but I really love weapons training. I guess for some people it’s the equivalent of hitting a bag which is what I used to enjoy doing.
I was a fighter for 20 odd years and I still train when I can but unfortunately due to life and injuries I can’t hit bags like I used to – I can still hit the pads but I can’t smash out the heavy bags to defrag and destress… So instead I play with weapons. Obviously in a very controlled environment but among the many benefits, as you can imagine, dealing with weapons requires you to get very clear and very present.
And the other way I like to relax is by watching movies.
I have literally watched more movies than any other human being I know. I love consuming content. So, for me one of the ultimate ways for me to spend time recharging is to sit on the couch, by myself and just watch Netflix or movies.
I’m curious, what things do you do to relax that allows you to recharge and restore so you can keep performing at a high level?

Running helps me release tension, and I have literally did jumping jacks in my living room when I couldn’t leave the house. Aerobic exercise is great for releasing stressful energy for me. Meditation brings me to a relaxing center as well. I also like to dance. I’ve found I’m very tightly wound if I don’t get out energy on a regular basis.
Love this Jessica!
When I’m in flow, to rest and recharge is all about rising early for a sunrise stretch and meditation. Stopping to sip on a seriously good tea tonic or sniffing a deeply relaxing oil.
A monthly Yoga Nidra outdoors at night time and a regular Yin class. To keep my feminine and masculine in check a weekly punish with my PT doesn’t go astray. Conversations with another that sees, feels and lives a little or a lot like me. Doco’s on Netflix… Rotten (OMG, please don’t ever buy honey from a supermarket again and definitely don’t give it to your little ones), The Magic Pill (F’ing food manufactures should be held accountable for the devastation they have caused to our Indigenous Communities) or What the Health… don’t start me! Ohhh the movie Walk with Me – no words. Ooopsie… did I just rant!? Maybe having a rant is recharging for me – LOL.
Uno with my babes, and if I’m really on fire with being in flow… early nights to bed.
Thanks for the ask beautiful. Was good to acknowledge what works for me.
Nature is incredibly healing. I’m curious….. where are you when this photo was taken?
Glad to hear this Elke. This photo was taken in Stanley Park, Vancouver, Canada.
Mr. Rae!
Do you believe in synchronicity?
Last night I was copying my Facie content into my email newsletter – in this instance I was copying my Self Care Exhaustion post and recalled the message in your Blog ‘Consistent Rest Leads to Consistent Results’
Look up my post Self Care Exhaustion at ELChemy Essentials

Curiosity had me cross check the dates of each post. I schedule mine and I imagine you do yours. Seems we shared a very similiar message ON THE SAME DAY!
Cool Huh?!
Any who…… Have a great afternoon.
